Tribunal: Staff Ordered to Stay Home on September 6 for Presidential Election Tribunal Judgment
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

In a significant development, the Court of Appeal in Abuja has instructed its staff to observe a day of rest on Wednesday, September 6, the scheduled day for the final judgment in the presidential election petition tribunal. A memo signed by Oluwaleye David on behalf of the chief registrar instructed court staff to stay home on that day, aiming to maintain a peaceful atmosphere during the tribunal session.

This decision comes as the tribunal prepares to convene on Wednesday to hear the petitions filed by the presidential flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi. Both have challenged the election victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
