Labour Party Rejects Tribunal Verdict on Presidential Election Petition
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

The Labour Party (LP) has strongly opposed the recent ruling by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, which dismissed their petitions challenging President Bola Tinubu’s election victory.

The Tribunal deemed Obi’s petitions as ‘unmeritorious,’ but the LP, through its National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, contends that justice was not served in this case.

Ifoh asserted that the Nigerian people witnessed an electoral injustice on February 25, 2023, which received global condemnation. However, the Tribunal, in its decision, appeared to ignore these glaring issues.

He emphasized that the essence of democracy is at stake, and the LP will persist in its pursuit of justice until the people’s will prevails.

Ifoh commended the LP’s legal team for fearlessly exposing flaws in the system and expressed sorrow for democracy in Nigeria while remaining resolute in their commitment to the country.

He also mentioned that the party would provide further details of its position after consulting with their lawyers once they receive the Certified True Copy of the judgment.
