The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter, Reverend Stephen Adegbite, has urged Nigerians to be patient with the administration of President Bola Tinubu. His advice comes amidst the austerity plaguing the nation.
During a press briefing in Ikeja, Lagos, Adegbite emphasized the association’s recognition of the efforts of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Tinubu to deliver and restore good times to Lagosians.
Adegbite acknowledged the challenging times, stating, “Change is never an easy process neither does it come without some cost. But I know that Nigerians will smile very soon.”
He expressed confidence that the economic policies, especially at the federal level, will begin to improve citizens’ lives, leading to a positive narrative in the shortest possible time.
He saluted Governor Sanwo-Olu’s efforts, noting the “giant strides” witnessed in the state and his re-election by the people of Lagos State.
The harsh economic situation, exacerbated by the removal of fuel subsidy and the persistent fall of the naira against the dollar, has taken a toll on Nigerians.
Despite these challenges, President Tinubu’s recent order to release grains from the Strategic Reserve and the Rice Millers Association of Nigeria aims to alleviate the nation’s food crisis and rising commodity prices.
Overall, Adegbite encourages resilience and hope for better times ahead, urging Nigerians to persevere through the current difficulties.
