Today, the 10th day of the month of May 2025, Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, Kano State, held its 5th Combined Convocation Ceremony with the highlight of the event being the investiture of Chairman of Dangote Group, Alh. Aliko Dangote, GCON, as the Chancellor of the University, while H.E. Dr Rabiu Kwakwanso, FNSE, Dr Raji Ahmed, SAN, Prince (Dr) Arthur Eze, OFR, and Alh. Dahiru Barau Mangal, CON, were honoured with Honorary Doctorate Degrees, (Honaris Causa) of the University located in the heart of the Savannah.
This, according to a publicised congratulatory statement personally signed by the Executive Governor of Kano State, H.E. Gov. Abba K. Yusuf, he described Dangote as an “illustrious Industrialist, business mogul, international Philanthropist” whose appointment is “well-deserved”, and a recognition of his invaluable contribution to the development of education in the state.
To all the recipients of the University’s Honourary Doctorate Degrees, he declared, “these honours are fitting recognition of your outstanding and philanthropic humanitarian and patriotic contributions to education and national development”.
He appreciated their support which has earned the University a global reputation in the turning out of world class graduates and as a “centre of excellence in science, innovation and technology” He said further, “I salute your commitment and investment in human capital development, selfless service and transformative impact,” which served as inspiration to the younger generation of leaders and innovators.
These your legacies in education development, economic empowerment, and institutional development will continue to uplift and impact numerous lives for generations to come.
