The University of Ilorin authorities have announced that President Bola Tinubu, the institution’s Visitor, is set to unveil recently completed projects on October 23.
This unveiling will be part of the combined 37th and 38th convocation ceremonies, where graduates of the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 academic sessions will receive their degrees and diplomas.
The three-day program, taking place at the university’s Main Auditorium, kicks off with a Special Jumaat Service on Friday, followed by an Inter-denominational Church Service on Sunday.
Among the notable events is the presentation of the Korean drama “Jeong Do-Jeon (The Clash of Power)” at the Performing Arts Theatre.
A significant highlight is the Convocation Lecture by Professor Tayo Falola, a Nigerian US-based historian from the University of Texas at Austin. His lecture on “Modernity, Modernisation, and Values” will precede the graduation of the 2020/2021 final year students.
Convocation Day II, on Saturday, will witness the conferment of degrees and honors on all the 2021/2022 final-year students.
The grand finale on October 23 includes the graduation of the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 six-year programs as well as Postgraduate students.
The university’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun, assured that meticulous planning is in place to ensure the smooth execution of these events.
