Three inmates, including two murder convicts and one serving time for sexual offences, escape from Ijebu Ode Correctional Centre in Ogun State. The escapees reportedly scaled the facility’s fence on Saturday.

The So-Safe Corps, Ijebu Imushin Area Command, issues an alert urging the public to report any sightings.

The Nigeria Correctional Service confirms the incident, stating that efforts, including a search party and collaboration with other agencies, are underway to recapture the fugitives.

The escape occurred around 3 am on Saturday, and authorities are confident in their ability to bring the inmates back into custody.

The Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Correctional Service, Ogun State Command, Mr Victor Oyeleke, confirmed the incident, saying it happened around 3 am on Saturday.

“A search party to bring the three of them back has been raised. We have their biometrics and we have contacts of their families. We are working together with sister agencies and in good time they will be brought back.”
