
Col. (Dr) Gbenga Adegbola (rtd), aspiring to become the next Oyo State Governor in 2027 was among eminent personalities from Saki and environs conferred with the Fellowship Award of the Institute for Governance and Leadership Studies in Africa – IGLSA, at the close of a leadership training course organised by the institute for oke-ogun youths in Saki over the weekend.
The Fellowship awards according to the institute is in recognition of the retired Col. Adegbola’s Meritorious service to the Nigerian state as a gallant military officer, his entrepreneurial leadership in the Hospitality industry across Oyo State as well as his unprecedented philanthropic gestures and support to the less privileged, groups, and social/religious associations.

Of particular mention is his promotion of religious harmony by single-handedly renovating the Saki Central Mosque, despite being a Christian, his love for the future of youths through his facilitation of the Command Secondary School to his Saki community and support for the School of Management of the Oke-ogun Polytechnic in Saki, and, of recent, some media Outfits operating in Saki, among several others.
In his remarks/acceptance speech, he thanked those behind the training, particularly Hon. Ismail Bimpe Adewoyin PhD, a House of Representatives Aspirant for Saki-East/West and Atisbo federal constituency, who, in collaboration with the Institute organised the training programme, while charging the beneficiaries to deploy all they have learnt towards the development of their various communities.


Amongst other Awardees are: His Excellency, Chief Alake Adeyemo – former Deputy Governor, who’s also from the constituency, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Khalid OLABISI, The Okere of Sakiland, Hon. Justice M.L. Abimbola, the immediate past Chief Justice of Oyo State, who served for the longest number of nine years since the creation of the state, Elder Wole Oladokun- astute Public Administrator, and also the facilitator himself Dr Ismail Bimpe Adewoyin, an Estate Valuer of repute.
