The Judges of the Oyo State Judiciary, led by the Chief Judge, Hon Justice Munta Abimbola , were at the Ibadan Airport last Thursday evening to receive the newly sworn-in Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria- Hon Justice Olukayode Ariwoola on his first homecoming for sallah celebrations since he assumed office about two weeks ago.
The special Airport reception is, according to our sources, symbolic because Oyo State judiciary is where the new CJN held sway for years as a Judge, before moving out to the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court where he now occupies the apex position of the highest court in the land. ” We needed to demonstrate to him that we are all proud of him and praying for his success” , Justice Abimbola told dejoymedia.
This gesture , according to our sources, came as a pleasant surprise to the Acting CJN seeing his brother Judges lined up to receive him . He was, after a brief exchange of pleasantries, accompanied by all the judges present
in a carnival like motor convoy to his Ibadan residence.
The CJN , in his brief remarks expressed appreciation for the honour accorded him by his homefront Judges and wished them well as they move forward in their chosen career.
