Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has taken charge of the medical care of Adebola Abiodun, a 13-year-old boy allegedly missing part of his intestines during treatment at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).

The governor’s commitment to oversee Adebola’s medical care came during an unscheduled visit to the Paediatric Ward at LASUTH, where Adebola and his mother, Mrs. Deborah Akin-Bright, were receiving care.

Mrs. Deborah Akin-Bright had reached out to Governor Sanwo-Olu through social media, urgently appealing for an investigation into her son’s condition. She alleged that part of Adebola’s small intestine had gone missing while he was undergoing treatment at LASUTH.

In response, LASUTH management denied any intentional removal of organs during corrective surgery, stating that the surgery aimed to address issues from a prior operation performed at a private hospital in Lagos.

During his visit to the hospital, Governor Sanwo-Olu promised to do everything humanly possible to save Adebola Abiodun’s life, emphasizing that the boy’s well-being was of paramount importance.

Sanwo-Olu assured Adebola and his family that he would utilize all available resources and medical expertise from LASUTH to ensure the boy’s recovery. He encouraged Adebola to stay strong and not lose hope, acknowledging the challenging journey ahead but expressing the government’s commitment to restoring the boy’s health and enabling his return to school.

The governor’s visit and assurance serve as a response to the urgent need to address Adebola’s medical condition, as he has been undergoing treatment at LASUTH for over a month. Governor Sanwo-Olu’s intervention aims to provide the necessary care and support to facilitate Adebola’s recovery.
