INEC Readies for Rerun Election in Saki West Constituency Following Court Order

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announces plans to conduct a rerun election in two polling units in Saki West State Constituency.

Dr. Adeniran Tella, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Oyo State, disclosed this in response to a Court of Appeal ruling. While the rerun date is yet to be fixed, Tella assures it will occur within 90 days, in compliance with the court order.

The appellate court had nullified the victory of Shittu Ibrahim (APC) in the March 18 election, upholding the petition by PDP candidate Julius Okedoyin. The affected polling units are in Saki West – Ward 6, Unit 7, and Ward 11, Unit 19.
