Belcalis Almánzar, the American rapper known as Cardi B, has officially confirmed the end of her marriage with Offset. Speculations about the couple’s divorce circulated online after cryptic posts appeared on Cardi’s Instagram last week.
In one post, Cardi mentioned getting rid of “dead weight” in the upcoming year, citing mentality, procrastination, laziness, and people. She expressed a focus on herself in the coming year. Another post conveyed the sentiment of outgrowing relationships and prioritizing herself.
Last week, both Cardi B and Offset unfollowed each other on their Instagram pages, adding to the speculation. During an Instagram Live session on Monday, Cardi B confirmed the separation, expressing that she has been single for a while.
Addressing her audience, she stated, “I’ve been afraid…not afraid, I just don’t know how to tell the world. The last time I went on Live, I kinda wanted to tell you guys, but I didn’t know how to tell you so I changed my mind. But it has been like this for a minute now.”
The breakup coincides with accusations from American rapper Blueface, claiming that Offset had a relationship with his baby mama, Chrisean Rock. The confirmation of the divorce comes after a series of hints and speculations on social media.
