The decision aims to regulate operations in Lekki I, and the gates will be reinstated after reaching an agreement with residents. Wahab assures the gates are intact and will return based on agreed-upon modalities, including restrictions on closure times and the presence of personnel for smooth entry and exit.

The Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, stressed the need for compliance with rules and regulations during a stakeholders’ meeting.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Lekki Residents Association, Mr Yomi Idowu, appealed to the government to reconsider the decision to remove all the street gates.
