The encounter saw both teams scoring from penalties, with William Troost-Ekong netting for Nigeria and Teboho Mokoena equalizing for South Africa.

A dramatic moment occurred when a VAR review disallowed a goal from Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen, leading to a penalty for South Africa, which Mokoena successfully converted.

Despite South Africa’s efforts, Nigeria emerged victorious, setting up a final showdown against either Ivory Coast or the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The match also witnessed intense moments, including a red card for South Africa’s Grant Kekana and missed opportunities on both ends.

Nigeria’s coach Jose Peseiro made a tactical change, while star forward Osimhen overcame injury concerns to make a significant impact.

The clash showcased spirited performances from both sides, captivating a crowd of 32,000 spectators.
