Governor Makinde Signs Executive Order on Handling Harmful Substances in Oyo State

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, receives official report on the January 16 explosion in Ibadan’s Old Bodija area. Three individuals linked to the incident to face prosecution, says Special Adviser on Security, Fatai Owoseni.

The report, compiled by medical, security, and engineering teams, identifies key findings regarding the explosion’s cause and impact. Closed Circuit Television footage captures the incident, with the government vowing to hold perpetrators accountable.

Additionally, efforts to secure the affected area and provide support to victims are underway, including the assessment of damaged properties and assistance to affected individuals.

Governor Makinde signs Executive Order imposing obligations on those dealing with explosives. Measures are in place to ensure prompt reporting of harmful substances and support for affected communities.

The report indicates 80 victims managed across hospitals, with ongoing efforts to provide necessary medical care and support for recovery.
