Tinubu’s signing of the Access to Higher Education Act in 2023 paved the way for interest-free loans for indigent students, fulfilling a campaign pledge to bolster education funding.

The Act, also known as the Students Loan Law, established the Nigerian Education Loan Fund to oversee loan requests, grants, disbursement, and recovery.

A Presidency official, speaking anonymously, affirmed the planned launch date, pending any unforeseen changes.
