Ogun Residents Praise Special Court Plan for Cult Clashes
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

Numerous residents in Ogun State have voiced their approval for the state government’s proposal to establish a special court dedicated to handling cult-related cases. Governor Dapo Abiodun has declared a strong stance against cultists, vowing to enforce the law.

In response, the state intends to create a Joint Anti-Cultism Security Task Force, involving major security agencies, with the mission to eradicate cultism in the region. Residents view this move as a positive step in combating the degradation of family and societal values.

This initiative follows recent violent cult clashes resulting in multiple fatalities and extensive property damage in Sagamu. Despite law enforcement efforts, the crisis persists, attributed in part to the proliferation of illegal drugs and the erosion of moral values among youth.

In response to this concerning situation, the state government is considering various measures, including the enactment of laws and offering amnesty to encourage cultists to abandon their affiliations.
