The promotion exercises from 2017 to 2022 were conducted by the Makinde administration, emphasizing its commitment to workers’ welfare over the past four years.

Oyelade stressed that this decision aligns with the government’s consistent policy on workers’ welfare, demonstrating its dedication to enhancing the professional growth of its workforce.

Additionally, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Musbau Babatunde, revealed that the Executive Council had approved the realignment of the 2023 supplementary budget. This adjustment will be presented to the state House of Assembly for approval.

Babatunde explained that economic shifts, including subsidy removal and the unification of exchange rates, had impacted macroeconomic fundamentals in the state, influencing inflation, exchange, and interest rates.

The realigned budget size for 2023 increased from N310.43 billion to N352.38 billion, reflecting the state government’s projection for the year.

The commissioner highlighted ongoing negotiations with the Nigeria Labour Congress, emphasizing that decisions arising from these discussions would be incorporated into the realigned supplementary budget.

Furthermore, the Executive Council approved the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (2024-2026) with an increase of 19.49% over the pre-empted 2023 figure. The approved figure for 2024 is N424.41 billion, providing a guide for the fiscal balance of the upcoming year’s budget.
