The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, revealed on Tuesday the persistent litigations surrounding the selection of kings in certain Yoruba regions.

During a press briefing at his Alarere residence in Ibadan for his 81st birthday celebration, Balogun attributed the legal disputes to the failure of those responsible for selecting kings to fulfill their traditional duties.

He emphasized that as long as injustice persists in monarch selection, litigation will endure as a means of seeking redress.

Addressing the alleged rift between former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the Council of Obas and Chiefs in Oyo State, the monarch clarified that Obasanjo, whom he described as a respectful figure, had his interactions blown out of proportion by the media.

Balogun expressed gratitude to God on his birthday, stating that every request he made to God had been fulfilled.
