The Oyo State Government has commenced training for 199 facilitators tasked with enrolling beneficiaries into the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer Scheme.

Mr. Akintunde Gbadamosi, the Head of the State Cash Transfer Unit, made this announcement during a workshop in Ibadan, attended by facilitators from all 33 local government areas.

Gbadamosi highlighted that the beneficiaries are expected to receive a monthly stipend of ₦25,000 for three months.

The purpose of training these officers is to streamline the enrollment process, facilitating easier access for the beneficiaries to the cash transfer.

The breakdown of the trained officers includes 33 desk officers, 133 cash transfer facilitators, and 33 Grievance Redress Officers. They are being equipped with knowledge on enrollment procedures and sensitization of beneficiaries.

Gbadamosi shared that a total of 240,649 poor and vulnerable households across the 33 LGAs in Oyo State will benefit from the National Social Safety Net Project Scale-Up (NASSP-SU) for a three-month period. The focus of this initiative is on unbanked households identified in the state social register.

He emphasized that eligibility for the program requires the possession of a National Identification Number (NIN). Each beneficiary is set to receive ₦25,000 per month for three payments, totaling ₦75,000 in financial support.

This assistance aims to significantly contribute to the wellbeing of residents, particularly in light of the economic challenges resulting from current reforms in the country.

Facilitators expressed their readiness to undertake the task of enumerating beneficiaries.

The Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer Program, a collaboration between the World Bank, the Federal Government, and State governments, aims to uplift fifteen million poor and vulnerable Nigerians.
