MTN: Subscriber Debt Cancellation Result of System Error, Not Intentional
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

The mobile telecommunication corporation, MTN, has attributed the recent debt cancellation status on its subscribers’ network to a system error. MTN clarified the situation through a tweet on its official handle on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday.

According to the firm, an unexpected glitch in its system caused the cancellation of debt owed by its network subscribers. It stressed that the debt status remained unchanged.

Netizens had expressed satisfaction with the debt cancellation, with many believing that MTN deliberately erased their debts.

Users shared their experiences, with some celebrating the apparent clearance of their debts.

However, MTN responded to the speculations, stating that it was a system glitch and not an intentional debt clearance.

In response to user comments, MTN acknowledged the speculation around the debt cancellation and assured customers that it was addressing the issue.

The company’s support handle explained that the airtime was not intentionally cleared, and the matter was receiving attention from the support team.

MTN committed to providing feedback once the issue was thoroughly investigated.

The telecom giant’s statement aims to clarify the unexpected debt clearance, emphasizing that it was a result of a technical glitch in its system and not a deliberate action.

This response from MTN aims to reassure subscribers and manage expectations regarding the nature of the debt cancellation.
